- MORE DETAILS
Home Sexteen is a conceptual album focused on intimacy. After a decade-long break, founding drummer Sean Martin returned to form the record, spurred by a 2005 festival performance in Florida. The band quickly created a massive collection of songs—originally 50, cut down to 20—and recorded them in a marathon session. The result is a unique, genre-defying sound that was picked up by the influential Oneida/Brah Records.
Home began in Tampa, Florida, with high school friends Eric Morrison (piano) and Andrew Deutsch (guitar), later joined by Brad Truax (bass) and Sean Martin (drums). Their early career was defined by intensely DIY work, initially distributing their albums on homemade cassette tapes. Their sudden fame came when Relativity Records spotted one of their early cassette recordings, leading to Home IX. After Sean left, Chris Millstein became the permanent drummer. The band continued to release six subsequent albums, maintaining their self-recorded ethos within their specialized studio located in the northwestern suburbs of New York City.
