Luke Temple

BIOGRAPHY

Luke Temple is an American singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist known for his genre-blurring approach to indie music, as well as for his work under the alias Art Feynman. With a career defined by constant reinvention and a deep commitment to artistic exploration, Temple has built a reputation as one of the most quietly innovative voices in modern indie and experimental pop.

He first gained attention as a solo artist in the early 2000s with a distinctive blend of lo-fi folk and introspective songwriting, later forming and fronting the Brooklyn-based band Here We Go Magic, whose hypnotic, genre-defying sound earned them critical acclaim and tours with artists like Thom Yorke and Grizzly Bear. As a solo artist, Temple’s work is marked by delicate vocals, literate lyrics, and a wide palette of sonic textures that span folk, psych-pop, and electronic minimalism.

In 2017, Temple introduced a new dimension to his artistry with the alter ego Art Feynman, under which he explores more rhythmically driven, experimental territory—combining elements of Afrobeat, krautrock, and ambient music into a raw, analog-infused sound. This project allows Temple to push his creative boundaries even further, embracing spontaneity and sonic collage while maintaining his signature emotional depth.
