Dead Oceans
BIOGRAPHY
Dead Oceans is an independent record label founded in Bloomington in 2007 by Phil Waldorf and Chris Swanson. The label's name comes from the lyrics of Bob Dylan's 1963 song "A Hard Rain's a-Gonna Fall". Dead Oceans' mission is to honor and subvert the canon of independent music, and to remake classic American music for a new century. The label's aesthetic is diverse, and includes artists from a variety of genres, ages, and places.
